This feature class includes all existing and planned off-street bicycle ways included in SEWRPC's Year 2050 Regional Transportation Plan. The year 2050 plan proposes that a system of off-street bicycle paths be provided between the cities and villages within the Region with a population of 5,000 or more. The off-street bicycle paths would be located in natural resource and utility corridors and are intended to provide reasonably direct connections between the region's urbanized and small urban areas on safe and aesthetically attractive routes with separation from motor vehicles.
This feature class also includes selected off-street bicycle paths constructed in Kenosha, Racine, and Washington Counties between 2005 and 2009 that meet the criteria for inter-city travel for bicycle and may be considered for inclusion in future regional transportation plans. |
